HAPPY BIRTHDAY REVIVAL

As you may have noticed elsewhere on the website REVIVAL celebrated their twentieth birthday on 17th March. Geoff and Steve made an appearance on Radio Nottingham (click here to listen to the interview) and the Nottingham Evening Post carried a very nice article and pictures.

The band and their wives met up in the evening of the 17th for a meal to enjoy each others company and relax. The evening was deliberately low key in contrast to the many public events that will celebrate the band's longevity.

The party to be held at Mapperley Sports and Social Club on July 16th is now the subject of much discussion within the band, from which a structure for the evening is emerging. It is hoped that previous band members will be in attendance and that they can be persuaded to perform a couple of numbers. The plan is to have a party, provide food for everyone and recreate the atmosphere of those early days, by encourageing the wearing of 1960's outfits by the audience. (Not compulsary and everyone will be welcome regardless of age of your wardrobe)

BREAKING NEWS

The Bonington Theatre, Arnold has now been booked for a Revival birthday concert to be held on 9th October. There is even talk of the band getting back into the recording studio to create a new album of material not previously recorded. Watch this space and I'll keep you updated on progress.

SUMMER SPECIALS TAKE ON A NEW MEANING

Plans for the Summer Specials to be staged on July 16th and September 17th have now started to take shape and have turned into something more exciting than had been envisaged.

July 16th will now be a celebration of REVIVAL'S twenty years together which will be a night not to miss. Plans are at an early stage but details will be published here as they become available. The only certainty is that the evening will be packed with music and that the dance floor will be full from the first chord to the last.

A news letter is now on line detailing the formation and development of the band.

REVIVAL's friends at Arnold Methodist Church have been looking for a date on which they could hold an evening with the Band. The only suitable date was September 17th and so this date has been given over to them for dance, to raise funds for the Church. Please come along and support them

CHRISTMAS PARTIES HELP CHILDREN IN NEED

This years Christmas Parties were once again a huge success with over 400 people getting into the festive spirit and helping to launch Christmas in true REVIVAL style. The two events followed the now familiar pattern of dancing, quizes and the odd surprise. Guests on each evening were treated to an appearance on stage of Anna who dressed as Sanita Claus provided backing vocals before taking round a collection bucket for Children in Need at the interval. Sanita's efforts and the audiences generosity raised a fantastic £391.89 over the two parties.

Thanks to every one who contributed.

Those at the second party were also treated to the debut of a new Band THE ROCKETTES, teenage girls playing the kind of music familiar to Revival fans. Their performance was well received by the knowledgeable audience. Look out for them in the future.

So another REVIVAL year comes to a close.

EXTRA DATES ADDED AT MAPPERLEY

As you may have seen on the Tour Dates page, REVIVAL are booked to perform at a number of private functions this year. These are mainly corporate events and social evenings for Organisations and Clubs who open ticket sales only to their members and guests.

In an attempt to make the Band as accessible as possible REVIVAL has added two Summer Gigs to its calendar at Mapperley Sports and Social Club. These additional evenings will compliment the Christmas Parties which are always such a huge success at the end of the year.

The 16th July and 17th September are now confirmed for the Band's Summer Specials along with the Christmas Parties on 3rd and 10th December all to be held at Mapperley Sports and Social Club. Tickets are available from Geoff.
